The small to medium apartment construction sector is alive and running at full steam. For our company, this has been a full design and build project.

This boutique apartment building is a ‘build for rental purposes’ consisting of a basement and 2 levels above ground. It is in a quiet court cul-de-sac where usually councils are reluctant to issue planning permits. However its interesting design to suite this wedge shaped block of land brilliantly takes in northly aspects and although complex from a build point of view, it is made up of a high degree of articulation to shadow its bulk form.

Small scale apartment buildings are made more complex when the building occupies such a large portion of the land and where there is limited room for moving materials around onsite. Articulation although interesting makes the challenges in building in a safe manner, much more rewarding. It’s also a complex project due to it’s use of Post Tension slab engineering and heavy weight construction techniques.

The project is well under and will be completed in 2024.
